Advocacy Organizations in Texas
- Mental Health America of Texas reaches out to communities across Texas to promote mental health, prevent mental disorders, and improve the care and treatment of people with mental illnesses through education and advocacy.
- The National Alliance on Mental Illness of Texas (NAMI Texas) purpose is to help improve the lives of people affected by mental illness through education, support, and advocacy.
- Texas Mental Health Consumers organizes, encourages, and educates mental health consumers throughout Texas and works toward the integration of individuals diagnosed with mental illness into the community as productive, functional, valued, citizens.
- The Texas Federation of Families for Mental Health is part of a National family-run organization dedicated exclusively to helping children with mental health needs and their families achieve a better quality of life.

National Mental Health Advocacy Organizations
- The National Mental Health Consumers Self-Help Clearinghouse works to foster consumer empowerment through their website that provides up-to-date news and information announcements, a directory of consumer-driven services, electronic and printed publications, training packages, and individual and onsite consultation.

Children and Adolescents
- Raising Texas is a statewide, collaborative effort to strengthen Texas' system of services for young children and families so that all children enter school healthy and ready to learn.
- The National Child Traumatic Stress Network works to raise the standard of care and increase access to services for traumatized children and their families across the United States.
- RTC Portland - Children's Mental Health Links webpage provides a variety of links in these categories: family support resources; advocacy organizations for children's mental health; educational resources; disorders, treatment, and research news; legal advocacy resources; anti-stigmatization resources; and evidence-based practice listings.
- The National Federation Of Families For Children's Mental Health is a national family-run organization dedicated exclusively to helping children with mental health needs and their families achieve a better quality of life.
- The American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry - Resources for Families webpage contains resources related to child and adolescent mental health, including a Bill of Rights for Children's Mental Health Disorders and their Families and a child and adolescent psychiatrist finder.
- Technical Assistance Center on Social Emotional Intervention for Young Children (TACSEI) takes the research that shows which practices improve the social-emotional outcomes for young children with, or at risk for, delays or disabilities and creates FREE products and resources to help decision makers, caregivers, and service providers apply these best practices in the work they do every day.
- The Research and Training Center on Early Childhood Development website is designed specifically for parents, therapists, early childhood educators, early interventionists, and researchers and includes information about effective early childhood intervention practices based on research.

Suicide prevention
- The Suicide Prevention Resource Center provides prevention support, training, and resources to assist organizations and individuals to develop suicide prevention programs, interventions and policies, and to advance the National Strategy for Suicide Prevention.
- The National Suicide Prevention Lifeline website contains suicide prevention resources, including the 24-hour, toll-free suicide prevention service available to anyone in suicidal crisis [1-800-273-TALK (8255)].

Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse Treatment
- The Texas Department of State Health Services Substance Abuse Services website contains information on finding substance abuse treatment, prevention, offender education, and problem gambling services in Texas.
- Narcotics Anonymous (NA) is an international, community-based association of recovering drug addicts with more than 43,900 weekly meetings in over 127 countries worldwide.
- Crystal Meth Anonymous (CMA) is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other, so they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from addiction to crystal meth.
- Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism.
- The SAMHSA Substance Abuse Treatment Facility Locator helps users locate drug and alcohol treatment programs in their area.
- The SAMHSA Buprenorphine Physician and Treatment Program Locator is an online resource designed to assist states, medical and addiction treatment communities, potential patients, and/or their families in finding information on locating physicians and treatment programs authorized to treat opioid addiction with buprenorphine (Suboxone® and Subutex®).
- National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence (NCADD) provides education, information, help, and hope to the public on alcohol and drug abuse.
- The HBO Series Addiction (CRAFT Approach supplement) is a short film about using the CRAFT Approach to help addicts seek treatment.
- Marijuana: Facts Parents Need to Know is a guidebook from NIDA for parents concerned about marijuana use.
- National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA) seeks to support and promote the best science on alcohol and health for the benefit of all.
- The National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) provides up-to-date, useful information on drug abuse and addiction for medical and health professionals, researchers, parents, teachers, students and young adults.

Resources for Adolescents and Teens about Alcohol and Other Drugs
- Marijuana: Facts for Teens (NIDA) is a guidebook to educate teens about marijuana use.
- The Cool Spot (NIAAA) is a website designed for 11-13 year-olds to prevent alcohol abuse.
- Coping Skills for Kids website is designed for pre-teens, ages 9-12, to help build coping abilities and also contains an informational section for parents and educators.

- The VA Health Care Eligibility and Enrollment website provides information about VA benefits and how to apply or enroll.
- The U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs National Center for PTSD provides links and information to help Vets locate VA and other mental health services their area, including the Veterans Affairs Facilities locator.
- The Army Behavioral Health website offers information for Soldiers, children & families, and providers about military behavioral health topics including PTSD and suicide prevention.
- The DoD Special Needs Parent Toolkit has comprehensive information and tools that are geared towards helping military families with special needs children navigate the maze of medical and special education services, community support and benefits and entitlements.
- The Department of Veterans Affairs Vet Centers program operates a system of 232 community based counseling centers, located in all fifty states, that provide readjustment counseling and outreach services (at no cost) to all veterans who served in any combat zone.
- The Texas Veterans Commission is committed to provide superior service through agency programs of claims assistance, employment services and education that will significantly improve the quality of life of Texas veterans and their families.
