Children and Adolescents
- Raising Texas is a statewide, collaborative effort to strengthen Texas' system of services for young children and families so that all children enter school healthy and ready to learn.
- RTC Portland – Children’s Mental Health Links webpage provides a variety of links in these categories: family support resources; advocacy organizations for children’s mental health; educational resources; disorders, treatment, and research news; legal advocacy resources; anti-stigmatization resources; and evidence-based practice listings.
- The National Federation Of Families For Children’s Mental Health is a national family-run organization dedicated exclusively to helping children with mental health needs and their families achieve a better quality of life.
- Child Trends’ mission is to improve outcomes for children by providing research, data, and analysis to the people and institutions whose decisions and actions affect children, including policy makers, program providers, foundations, and the media.
- Child Trends’ What Works webpage offers six comprehensive tools for improving outcomes for children and youth.
- Columbia University Guidelines for Child & Adolescent Mental Health Referral (PDF) are guidelines designed to assist staff in community and juvenile justice agencies in developing appropriate referrals for youth diagnosed with a psychiatric disorder.
- The Technical Assistance Center on Social Emotional Intervention for Young Children (TACSEI) takes the research that shows which practices improve the social-emotional outcomes for young children with, or at risk for, delays or disabilities and creates FREE products and resources to help decision makers, caregivers, and service providers apply these best practices in the work they do every day.
- The Research and Training Center on Early Childhood Development website is designed specifically for parents, therapists, early childhood educators, early interventionists, and researchers and includes information about effective early childhood intervention practices based on research.

Working with Juvenile Justice Populations
- The National Center for Mental Health and Juvenile Justice was established to assist the field in developing improved policies and programs for youth with mental health disorders in contact with the juvenile justice system, based on the best available research and practice.
- Reclaiming Futures is a project supported by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF) for pilot sites to create a model that promotes new standards of care and opportunities in juvenile justice that helps teenagers caught in the cycle of drugs, alcohol, and crime.

Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD) Abuse
- National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA) seeks to support and promote the best science on alcohol and health for the benefit of all.
- The National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) provides up-to-date, useful information on drug abuse and addiction for medical and health professionals, researchers, parents, teachers, students and young adults.
- The SAMHSA National Clearinghouse for Alcohol and Drug Information (NCADI) offers more than 500 substance abuse prevention and treatment resources to the public, many of which are free of charge.
- The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), part of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), focuses attention, programs and funding on promoting a life in the community with jobs, homes and meaningful relationships with family and friends for people with or at risk for mental health or substance use disorders.
- The SAMHSA Addiction Technology Transfer Center Network (ATTCs) is committed to helping the addictions treatment and recovery services field stay abreast of “what works” in order to enhance their skills and change their practice.
- The SAMHSA Center for Substance Abuse Treatment CSAT Inventory of Effective Substance Abuse Treatment Practices
- The CSAT Knowledge Application Program (KAP) provides substance abuse treatment professionals with publications, online education, and other resources that contain information on best treatment practices.
- The Treatment Improvement Exchange (TIE) is a resource to provide information exchange between CSAT staff and state and local alcohol and substance abuse agencies.
- The American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) is dedicated to educating physicians and improving the treatment of individuals suffering from alcoholism and addictions.
- Psychotherapeutic Medications 2008: What Every Counselor Should Know (PDF) is an excellent reference document for clinicians, containing information on generic and brand names, the purpose of each medication, usual dose & frequency, emergency conditions and cautions.
- The SAMHSA Substance Abuse Treatment Facility Locator helps users locate drug and alcohol treatment programs in their area.

Suicide Prevention
- The Suicide Prevention Resource Center provides prevention support, training, and resources to assist organizations and individuals to develop suicide prevention programs, interventions and policies, and to advance the National Strategy for Suicide Prevention.
- The National Suicide Prevention Lifeline website contains suicide prevention resources, including the 24-hour, toll-free suicide prevention service available to anyone in suicidal crisis [1-800-273-TALK (8255)].
