The Louis de la Parte Florida Mental Health Institute of the University of South Florida has issued a call for abstracts for their conference Integrating Services, Integrating Research for Co-Occurring Conditions: A Need for New Views and Action. This conference, which is co-sponsored by NIDA, NIMH and NIAAA, will take place in Washington, DC on March 2-3, 2009. The organizers describe this conference as an effort to integrate behavioral health services research (including mental health and substance use disorders). They hope to bring together researchers, consumers, families, providers, policymakers, and communities to build a dynamic platform for research and new behavioral health services research (BHSR) teams. A ‘virtual collaboratory’ will also be used to sustain the interest and develop new research teams. This conference will be the first of three yearly scientific meetings, each with distinct topics. To find out more about this conference, or to submit an abstract, please visit http://bhsr.fmhi.usf.edu. Abstracts are due by December 12, 2008.
