Issue-Driven Workgroup:
Veterans' Concerns

Overview

Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom have increased the number of veterans in need of behavioral health services. The Texas Mental Health Transformation Work Group (TWG) recognizes the importance of coordinating services across federal and state agencies and communities.

TWG Charge

The TWG charged the workgroup with developing strategies around:

Identifying service needs for veterans in Texas.
Identifying service needs for the families of veterans.
Developing recommendations for coordinating funding and service delivery.
Developing recommendations for establishing additional services.

Goals

The workgroup will develop strategies around service identification and coordination of program delivery.
